and Services

The Recycled Product Trade Show is an exciting and informative
event presented by the California Integrated Waste Management
Board (CIWMB). It is a unique opportunity for suppliers and
government and private sector buyers to meet and discuss recycled-content
products (RCP) and environmentally preferable products (EPP)
and services.
At this two-day show, to be held at the Sacramento Convention
Center, exhibitors will have an audience of approximately
2,000 procurement officers and decision-makers who are eager
to see the wide variety of high-quality, cost-effective RCPs
and EPPs. The trade show is intended to benefit both attendees
and exhibitors!
This year's show will highlight Sustainable Building and
Construction products and services.
This is the best opportunity to meet buyers, managers, procurement
officers, and decision-makers from federal, State and local
government agencies, and the private sector. All in one place,
all at the same time!
Getting the right person within hundreds of State and local
government entities, offices and facilities can be extremely
challenging. This show will bring the right people to you.
Past shows exceeded 2,000 registered attendees!
The Recycled Product Trade Show will reach hundreds of buyers,
managers, and decision-makers from federal, State, county,
and city government; universities, colleges, schools, fairs,
municipal officials, and the private sector working in:
Urban planning
Transportation
Public works
Energy efficiency
Construction and remodeling
Solid waste management
Purchasing and acquisition
Environment
Pollution prevention
Architecture and design
Corporate purchasing office
Facilities maintenance
Regulations and mandates
State agencies spend more than $6 BILLION on goods and services
each year. In addition to these numbers, there are more than
$2 BILLION in current State contracts for design and construction
projects. The California Integrated Waste Management Board
(CIWMB) estimates that more than $1 BILLION in goods alone
(products, materials, and supplies) are purchased annually.
California State law requires State and local government agencies
to buy recycled products instead of non-recycled products
whenever price, quality and availability are comparable.
State agencies are mandated to spend 50 percent of their dollars
on RCPs within specific product categories. We need both the
public and private sectors to collaborate to be more successful
in selling your products if we are to be successful in achieving
these goals.
California and many local governments are seeking practical
and more innovative ways to provide "green buildings",
and Governor Schwarzenegger has spoken of creating a green
building infrastructure bank to foster sustainable buildings.
